Keith and Cheryl are heading to San Diego to run the annual Rock-N-Roll Marathon on May 31, 2009.  Running a marathon is very demanding. However, for individuals without serious health issues, it is merely a tough but attainable challenge. We feel very fortunate to be able to train for a race like this and as such, we would like to raise funds to help others who could be heading down a much more demanding path.

Did you know there are 26 million adult Americans out there who have chronic kidney disease but only 10% who know it? For those 90% who don’t know it — they have a higher risk for high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke and even early death.

The Kidney TRUST is a non-profit organization whose mission is to close the gap on the 90%.  Closing the gap means fewer people will continue down the path to chronic kidney disease. We can’t think of a better reason to run those 26 miles knowing we are helping others to live a longer, fuller life!
